Did you know there is still time to earn incentives?
If you have previously participated in the MDHHS Promoting Interoperability (PI) Program (formerly known as the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program or Meaningful Use), you may qualify for incentives for the 2019 Program Year.
Providers who have successfully attested to at least one year of program participation prior to 2017 and have not received 6 incentive payments may be eligible to continue participation and receive incentives of $8,500 per year through 2021.
Are you still eligible? You must qualify as an Eligible Professional (EP) for each payment year. The eligibility criteria include:
- Being a Michigan Medicaid provider of the following professional types: Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Dentist, or Physician Assistant in a Physician Assistant-led Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Rural Health Center (RHC)
- Having a minimum Medicaid patient volume of 30% or greater (20% or greater for Pediatricians)
- Ability to demonstrate that a minimum of 10% of patient encounters occur in an outpatient setting
EHR Certification & Program Requirements
In order to receive and continue to receive incentive payments, EPs must achieve and maintain a set of Meaningful Use measures as defined by CMS.
Program year 2019 requires EPs to use 2015 Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT) to attest to Stage 3. The Stage 3 requirements include reporting on 8 objectives with associated measures and electronically submitting data on a minimum of 6 Clinical Quality Measures.
